Ok, I have to share this with you! So, I rode on an airplane for the first time last week, right? Can you say nervous! Before I was scheduled to leave, I was NOT ok with flying! LOL. Tell your neighbor, BUT GOD! Stay with me. So, a few days before I was to fly out, I checked my email as I usually do and I had received a video from Tyler Perry's mailing list that was titled "Fly Above Your Fear!" I knew immediately that was God working on my behalf. The timing of the video was just ON POINT! As I watched the video, Tyler explains how he was afraid to fly and how he knew his career would suffer if he didn't fly. I felt the same way! I knew that God had called me to minister through music all over the world but not wanting to fly would hinder me from traveling certain distances. After I watched the video, I had to give God praise and thank Him for sending that word of encouragement through Tyler Perry aka Madea! He also used praying people that are close to me to encourage me to take that first step and overcome my fear of flying. And I DID! I ended up riding on a total of 4 flights! Can you believe it? Before I boarded the first flight, I read a few scriptures from the Word of God. This one helped me a lot: 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind". On my last flight home, I got to meet a nice Christian young lady who sat with us and we talked about God most of the way. That was right up my ALLEY! The entire flying experience, I felt that God had placed people to comfort me and reassure me that He was protecting me. God always takes care of His own. I REALLY believe and KNOW this and you should too! I want you to know that I overcame one of the biggest fears that HAD me bound. YES I DID! I truly thank God for it and now I'm ready to fly ANYWHERE! LOL. If you have never flown before, I hope I have encouraged you like someone else encouraged me to fly above your fear! Trust God and know that He will take care of you. He said in Matthew 28:20 "...lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world". Face your fears my dear friends! Many Blessings, Tamesha Pruett www.tameshapruett.net Have you ever heard the saying, 'Don't pray and worry'? Well let's go to the Word of God and see where this comes from. Philippians 4:6 "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done" (NLT) Today, I want you to know that whatever you are going through, whatever obstacle is in your way, or whatever has you downcast, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT! When you stop worrying, and start praying, you will find that God had it the whole time. It's already done! 1 Peter 5:7 "Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you". Dear friends, THIS IS THE TRUTH! God cares about all of us! Do you believe that? If so, then trust the Almighty God to take care of you. Do you remember the song that Bob Marley sang titled, "Every little thing gonna be all right"? You should just start singing that right now! YES! It's when you trust God that you allow Him to completely work in your life. You have a God that can do "...exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us" Ephesians 3:20 (KJV). TRUST GOD in every situation to guide you! This is my prayer for you today: Let Go, Let God. Tamesha Pruett www.tameshapruett.net I was sitting here trying to think of what to write about today and I thought..."Why not share something with my readers before we start a long blogging journey ahead?" So, here you have it...5 things I LOVE! I figure I could open up a little more so that you could get to know me better! Pretty cool huh? I think so. So here you have it: 5 Things I LOVE~ 1. I LOVE sports! I'm very athletic and love to play sometimes too. My favorite sport to play is basketball AND I'm very competitive...which means I DON'T LIKE TO LOSE! Lol. However, I'll take a lost if we as a team tried our best! Oh and I'm a Kevin Durant fan! Go OKC! 2. I LOVE old jazz! Yes...I love the old jazz music. Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker, Duke, Satchmo (Louis Armstrong), Sarah Vaughn, Pearl Bailey, Count Basie, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, etc. The list goes on and on!! I think these people really created smooth unique music! I started scatting from listening to Ella!! I also love live jazz music! 3. I LOVE outdoor stuff! I love outdoor stuff. Camping, fishing, paddle boating, canoeing, archery, zip lining, etc. Now for fishing, I WILL NOT put the bait on the hook nor take the fish off the hook. LOL! You guessed right, I'm a pull and reel in girl! LOL. For camping, I have to have a tent. I can not do the open air camping with just a sleeping bag!! NOT COOL! 4. I LOVE dancing! I enjoy dancing and I must say, I'm very good at it! I enjoy Salsa dancing so when Zumba came out...that was right up my alley! I was thinking that the game wasn't ready for me! LOL. Well, you guessed right again, I was WRONG! That game will wear you OUT! And that's what it did to me, so I stopped playing it...but, I'll probably play it again someday! 5. I LOVE Martin! Ok, do you remember the sitcom Martin? Well, that is my FAVORITE sitcom of all time! I think Martin Lawrence is one of the funniest people to ever create a sitcom. I mean, literally, the entire cast was hilarious! From Miss Jerry to Shawn down at the radio station. These people were a combination out of this world! So, you know that I had to buy the DVD series when it came out right? OF COURSE!! So, there you have it...5 things that I LOVE! There is more of course, but I figure that I start small and as we grow together through this blog, we can learn more about each other. Leave a comment and share some things you LOVE! I'd love to hear from you. Thanks for reading! WORD of encouragement-"16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."-Matthew 5:16 www.tameshapruett.net I want to encourage you today to Hold On! I know that things can get rough and tough but know that GOD is going to strengthen you in the midst of it. Galatians 6:9 tells us to "Be not weary in well doing, for in due season, you SHALL reap if you faint not." What is this telling us? This is telling us not to give up before we get what is due to us. Would you believe me if I said you are almost there? You can't afford to faint right now...not RIGHT now! The race is on and the finish line is in your view...keep moving forward. You're going to be alright after while!! You are going to overcome, but in order to get what is promised to you, you have to HOLD ON! |
