Oprah Winfrey vs. The WORD OF GOD!

I have to share this with you! I was on YouTube watching different clips and I came across this video of an older Oprah Winfrey show where KING JESUS was the HOT TOPIC!

Well, during the show, they start out discussing about two forces, good and evil. After this point is made, Oprah moves toward the subject of different ways to get to heaven and states that "Jesus was not the only way". If you know what the Word of God says, then you know that Oprah is WRONG!

It is written: "Jesus answered, "I am the WAY and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."-John 14:6

Then, she tries to 'on the spot' come up with a possible option as to how someone may not hear about Jesus before leaving this Earth. Really Oprah? So, she states that "What if your somewhere on the planet and you never hear the name of Jesus and yet you live with a loving heart...you can not get to heaven, you think?"

I LOVE how the lady in the audience stood on the WORD OF GOD! I got excited right there!! She responds to Oprah with the WORD!

It is written: "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the WHOLE WORLD as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."-Matthew 24:14 NIV

If you believe the Word of God, shout YEAH! So, I want you to watch the video for yourself and leave a comment because I want to talk about this with you!

WORD of Encouragement, "Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand"-Ephesians 6:13 KJV

Tamesha Pruett, is a sweet, talented and intelligent woman who has learned to delight the world with her beautiful music.
I met her at the Juneteenth Celebration in 2011 and have continued a kind friendship since then. I enjoy reading her blogs, that mainly deal with issues concerning Christianity.

Oprah Winfrey is also a woman whom I have admired for many years. Although she hosted a show for many years that was mostly aimed at women, I enjoyed the many thoughts she expressed. She apparently has expressed thoughts that are contrary to my friend, Tamesha. That's wonderful because to think is to differ. You've all heard the retort to someone who says 'I agree with everything you say.' The answer 'Then one of us is unncessary.' I had a college professor, a man aside from my father was the greatest intellect I had ever known. Dr. Arnold Leder, was a world wide authority on the nation of Turkey and all affairs concerning the Middle East and Africa. He was also well read in philosophy. He introduced, in his class 'Politics and Personality' at the University once known as Southwest Texas State University, the works of the working man's cult philosopher Eric Hoffer. Hoffer, a longshoreman, had plenty of time to think about things. He then went home and handwrote books. Out of this came his best known work 'The True Believer.' It was pop psychology, that said all sorts of things that I found easy to believe. So did everyone in the class. The seminar class all concurred. This man Hoffer had brilliant insights into human behavior and why we believe the things we do. Only one brave young lady dared to say that she did not concur with his ideas. We looked at her in disdain.
Dr. Leder however, concurred with her and said that what he did was take all the conventional wisdom he had heard in his life, and put it in writing. His words were so broad and sweeping that it was imposible to disagree with. He concluded his remarks by saying 'Never trust anyone who agrees with you too much.' So, Tamesha I find it wonderful that you do not agree with Oprah Winfrey. And I am happy to say that I find you eminently trustworthy.

I grew up in the Episcopal Church. The bible was read to us, and I being an impatient poster child for attention deficit disorder, was unable to sit still as the priest read the bible to me. I didn't read it for myself until I was about 15 years old. This book, that I was taught to believe was filled so many sweet and wonderful things, actually contained many upsetting and troubling passages. I discovered that admiring such girls in my class as Rosie Perez, Anne Harris and Yolanda Toscano were not natural acts of a teen boy discovering life but a deadly sin that would condemn me to everlasting damnation. I discovered that if I didn't allow people to beat the snot out of me, I too, would be condmened. And I discovered that I had believe in only Christianity and could not entertain any other thought than that of Christianity, or I would know eternal damnation. That meant that the man I loved and admired more than anyone else in the world at that age and time, the boxer Muhammad Ali, would go to hell. I learned that Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Mark Twain and Clarence Darrow were also destined to the eternal torture. That was the interpretation of most Christians of the verse Matthew 1:14. It has come to mean that 'If you don't think about Jesus exactly as I do, and join my church or a church exactly like mine, that you are going to be condemned. ' I have to reason that Jesus had to have meant something else entirely. It is quite possible that one could read exactly the same thing and come up with another interpretation. I could number many ways that the verse could be read. For instance, living in Brenham I know the way to go to Houston is to take Highway290. You can also take highway 36 and connect to I-10 and get to Houston. Yet, Jesus says He is the way. Does that mean we must walk through Him? Or should we perhaps adopt His ways or loving and forgiving all. I know way too many people who are Christian in name only. They do not love their neighbor as themselves, and frankly very few people, Christian or not, do. Very few love each other as Jesus loved us. The only example frankly of a man who loved his neighbor as himself, who loved his fellow man andwoman as Christ loved was a man most notably not Christian. Mahatma Ghandi said to the man who had just pumped several bullets into him, in his dying breath 'I forgive you my brother.' Did this incredible, decent and heroic man, go to hell? Or did his actions show that he was actually living through Christ? These thought I hope you would consider.
